The watch was stored together with other valuable heirlooms hidden away from the public in the depot of the Pinakothek der Moderne museum in Munich. On the back plate there is engraved 'Zum 6.2.1939 herzlichst A. Hitler' (lit: On 06 February 1939 most affectionately A. Hitler).
